A repeat part for a paying customer is not the same job as a one-off from a buyer who quotes ten shops and orders from none. Encode the triage you already do in your head:

  • Fast-track — known customer, part you have made before, or a clear fit for your equipment. These should jump the queue and get a same-day quote.
  • Standard — new but a good fit; allocate proper estimating time.
  • No-bid or defer — outside your capability envelope, an unrealistic timeline, or a customer who never converts. A polite, fast no-bid is a feature, not a failure — it frees the hours your winnable jobs need.
